The Qingdao Deep-Sea Equipment Testing and Research Center, situated in the West Coast New Area of Qingdao, which boasts a strong marine technology atmosphere, is a scientific research institution that focuses on cutting-edge fields such as deep-sea engineering, offshore renewable energy, and deep-sea mining, integrating scientific development, experimental research, and engineering technology. The center possesses a series of advanced testing facilities and can simultaneously meet the water tank testing conditions for deep-sea vessels and marine engineering equipment.

The center is jointly initiated by Harbin Engineering University, Wuhu Shipyard Co., Ltd., Qingdao Military-Civilian Integration Development Group Co., Ltd., China Construction Harbour & Channel Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd., Qingdao Hachuan Intelligent Control Technology Co., Ltd., and the Yangtze River Delta Advanced Research Institute of Harbin Engineering University. Based on the national marine strategic needs and oriented towards market industrialization, the center integrates core elements such as key technology research and development, intelligent equipment manufacturing, engineering operation and maintenance, and industrial chain collaboration. It is committed to promoting breakthrough development in deep-sea equipment technology and assisting China's deep-sea resource development and research.

As a supporting carrier for Qingdao's construction of a "leading modern marine city", the center promotes the upgrading of the marine economy towards high-end and green development through technological breakthroughs and industrial collaboration, striving to contribute a "Chinese solution" to the global development of deep-sea resources.
